Best Time to Visit Kalpa

During summer season
Kalpa, located at high altitude, experiences moderate climate throughout the year. The winters beginning from October to May are long and extremely cold while summers are short from June to September. The village however, faces very unpredictable rainfall during monsoon season. With summer temperature ranging from 8 deg C to 24 deg C, light woolens are suffice, while the winters are freezing with minimum temperature dipping as low as -15 deg C to - 20 deg C. It is best to visit the town in summer months.

Things to do in Kalpa

A walk to Roghi village.

Blessed with so many natural wonders, the beautiful Roghi village is situated 8 km away from the town of Kalpa and is surrounded by lovely gardens and village houses. This place is popular for its apple orchards and ethnic village life, which includes temples, monasteries, Kinnauri style buildings, etc. The tourists love visiting this mind blowing destination, which is blessed with such an exquisite beauty.

The road to Roghi from Kalpa is a bit dangerous as there is a cliff, which hugs one way road from Kalpa, crossing which seems impossible for many tourists. However, there are some adventure freaks, who love this route and they come down to Roghi only to enjoy the spectacular view of the Kinnaur Kailash range, which can be seen from here. The Roghi village is built on the slope of a mountain and is covered with apple, apricot, and chilgoza trees.  More Attractions
